Luku was born from a sweet idea rooted in tradition. In a Greek family where loukoumades - small, round, deep-fried dough puffs with a crispy golden exterior and a soft, fluffy interior - were always the stars of the table, it was only a matter of time before someone asked: What if Greek doughnuts came to South Africa?
Not just sweet, but wild. Not just golden, but oozing with filling. Not just drizzled, but drowned in deliciousness.

And so, Luku was born - named for loukoumades, raised on joy, and sprinkled with everything from cinnamon to cookie crumble. Each puff is made fresh, served hot, and built by you, if you wish.

We believe dessert shouldn’t behave - it should delight, surprise, and make you wanna take a pic before the first bite (if you can wait that long).

Our first little Luku lives inside Roman’s Pizza Athlone. But trust us, this won’t be the only one for long. Once you’ve had a taste, you’ll understand.
